- The Asanteman Association is a non-profit organization that embraces all cultures regardless of race or ethnic origin. The Association aspires to become the organization of choice for support, knowledge management and dissemination of African culture and traditions in the Atlanta Metro Area.
Our Mission
Bridge the gap between Africa and Atlanta Metropolitan area by exposing the rich culture of the Ashanti people of Ghana in the community.
OUR OBJECTIVE
- Short Term
- Share the Ghana culture and traditions with the community in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.
- Embark on voluntary projects in the Atlanta area and some African villages
- Organize exhibits, story telling sessions and cultural festivals to bring persons closer to the Ghanaian culture
- Find and develop knowledge base of experts to become spokespersons for Ghanaian current affairs, history, culture and traditions.
- Long Term
- Establish a Foundation to be the preferred source for knowledge and clarity about African issues.
- Establish African Relations Information Center to educate adults and children about Africa.
- Acquire property to facilitate Foundation activities including, a library for Ghanaian education, after school program for the youth, exhibits of Ghanaian arts, crafts and history etc.
- Sponsor trans-continental cultural exchange between Africa and the Metro Area
- Provide Scholarships for Ghanaians and American students
